Fraud & Scam for Join MLM company

07-Mar-2023 (In Criminal Law)
My friend called me on 17 Sep 22 and told me that he is having a very good multi national business opportunity and it will give wealth in a short period of time. He was showing too much excitement and invited me to meet with his senior partners. On 27 September, He called me again for a meeting with his senior partners and during interactions, I asked several times about the name of the company and the nature of business. I explicitly mentioned to him that I do not want to work in network marketing companies. But he somehow used to avoid that question and used to reply “you will know when you will join the business and start getting the money” and “trust me I am here. I trusted him & invested 16 lakhs Rs. in business. After realizing that these people trapped me, I am now feeling cheated and confused. My mental condition is deteriorating because of these incidents. Now he denied to return my money. Please help me, How can i refund the money from Company or my friend.

Hello you can file the complaint to police for cheating, misrepresentation and fraud if the money has been taken by false representation. However if you have become partner by signing any contract/ agreement you have remedy before the Civil Court.

Sir, don't worry you can lodge a police complaint against them under section 420 - cheating ,409- criminal breach of trust ,section 421- fraud and these offences are non-bailable and also under section 74 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872 , a case under suit for damages can be filed and compensation can be claimed.
