Parcel lost by a transport company

Transport company lost one of my parcels. They offered 50% compensation which is not acceptable. Can I sue?
Yes you can.before suit you give A Legal notice to said transport company for full compensation of your loss.After notice if they not reply and not pay compensation .you will suit in the court against transport company
You have a right to claim the the full loss of your parcel. .
If it is insured, then you can seek help from court, otherwise 50% is ok.
In railway claims they pay accordingly if artical is insured otherwise, they pay @few rupees per kg.
So, its up to you, what you choose.

They are liable for 100 percent amount of parcel. If you hired the services of transport company for personal purpose and not for commercial purposes then you may sue them in consumer forum. If the transaction relates to commercial activity then you may sue them in regular civil court.
