Can I claim interest from builder for late possession

Hello sir i am from panchkula well had booked an office in venetian towers adjoining sector 20 panchkula PEER MUCHALLA area the possesion date has passed in 2014 and the project is not ready yet.we had done full payment and also having receipts of that whenever i call builder he said only 6 months more from last one and half years ,so question is can i claim interest from builder for late possession which is still pending?please advice

yes you can file a case against builder to pay you for delayed possession and also interest and harassment including financial losses that have incurred due to late or delay in possession of the project.
Check you builder buyer agreement thoroughly, there must be some penalty clause on delayed possession. you can contact me for further action.

Yes, you can definitely claim interest. In all probability your agreement will have a provision to that effect. You may approach the consumer Court in respect of this. In fact Courts are now allowing compensation over and above the agreement terms as it has been held time and again that the buyer agreement are heavily tilted in favour of the builders.

You may be able to claim interest from the builder, if the Buyer's Agreement permits the same. You need to see the terms of the said Agreement and bring out action accordingly.
