You send him a legal notice first and also make a call whereby while talking to him discuss each and every facts of the case and record it for the purpose of the evidence.
Once you get the recording of him admitting the fact of the alleged transaction , it will become easy for you to get the amount through court also

As it appears from your fact that you have given a friendly loan of Rs. 10 lacs. Firstly you should send him a legal notice through an advocate and even after that if he refuses to give back your sum you can file a recovery suit against him.

Dear,
Im afraid that it is very difficult and almost impossible to prove the amount and transaction even you do not have a bill, cheque or any other promissory note. The question arises, how will you prove the transaction.

Its not new that loan is given on the basis of oral agreement/understanding. You can file a case against that person and prove the same in the Court of Law. We can discuss the procedure and all once we meet.
