How we can find the appeal against lower court order online

31-Jul-2023 (In Civil Law)
As we partially win the case but other party not demanding anything legally by court. We want to know whether he filed any appeal in session court. As he said he filed the case and summons are issued but till date we have not received . Now we want to know the appeal status online. How can we check it?

Search for District Court of ur area On google. The website will give You option to find status by party name. The parties remain same in Appeal but respondent becomes appellant. Alternatively You Can file caveat. Also u Can personally go to Court and check from clerical branch

Online searching of cases of a particular case is always specific and you need to know exact abbreviation of the case No. From the case No. of lower court order/ judgment also, appeals are traceable. Otherwise, you may take assistance of any legal expert by showing lower court order or by providing him required details.

For you to be able to see the online status. you need to know any of the following things: 1) Name of any of the parties and year of filing of the case or 2) Case number (including case type, number and year). After you know this, you need to go to "services.ecourts.gov.in/ecourtindia_v5/n" website. here you have to click case status and then fill in the relevant parts that you know. like court location, name, case number if known or party names, etc. If you give the correct information, a list of cases will show where one of the cases will be yours. click on the view link next to it and it will show you all the case details.

Another way is the offline way in which you can actually visit the court premises and from the filing branch find out the details of the appeal, if any, has been filed.

If no appeal has been filed by them as yet, then even a caveat can be filed by you in the Session court so that if any appeal is filed by the opposite party, they will have to give you a copy of the same before it is filed in the court. Hope this answers your question.
