Aunt not returning my wife's jewelry what to do.

09-Dec-2023 (In Civil Law)
> My wife had loaned her jewelery to her friend's Mom(X) and Aunt(Y). > its been more than 45 days they are ignoring to return back the jewelery. > I found her Aunt(Y) house and when asked to give back the jewelery, She threatened me to leave from her place and she would call guys to beat me up. She bluntly said she doesnt know my wife and its her sister(X) who had borrowed the jewels. I assume she is a local person who will gather crowd and blame me on something which I hadnt done. > That time X gave me verbal guarantee of returning the jewelery within a week. But she hasnt return the jewels yet. Somehow I found X house & asked her the jewelery. She again asking more time which I am pretty sure she is lying. When I pressured her to give within few days, she is saying " I didnt borrow jewel and its my sister(Y)- so go ask her". I hav voice recorded the conversation in X house for proof,as in timely manner thy have shut my mouth stating that". I hav call records for proof. Pls suggest.

You do not have any document for handing over possession of jewelry to your aunt Without document you cannot recover jewelry through civil case Keeping audio recording file 420 cheating case along with theft by taking support of police against your aunt by registering FIR , So during investigation by police the chances of recovery is more. Aunt as to take bail, come to the court , instead of taking such risk she will make settlement Regards from Ravindra

Dear Sirs, You can orally inform them that you will file a case against them if they do not return the jewelry. Even after that if she hasn't returned, then you can send a legal notice through a lawyer. If she does not comply with the legal notice you can institute a case against them with relevant documents. You need to give police complaint for cheating, abusing, threatening, criminal conspiracy etc. In your complaint narrate the facts in detail with date and time as they occurred. Make the police to file an FIR.
