The cheque which is given by me was bounced. how to protect my self?

If you can talk to him into a compromise and settle for a lower amount , go for it. Otherwise you have to file for insolvency in Court and get a notice issued to him. In case you have assets then it is difficult.

First of all issuing blank cheque itself is an offence and now you can't tell that you are not liable. When you have issued your cheque to some one then you have to pay the due, though you might have not written on cheque but this will not stand before the court. But you have one route, as you have mentioned there is no proof for receiving money like bank account transaction etc then you can tell that you have never received any money from him and he is misusing your cheque but the written amount should be more than Rs.20,000/- because law clearly says if it is more than Rs.20,000/ it should be through Cheque or account transfer. Hence, some more points has to be discussed consult advocate.

Give reply to legal notice and take contentiin that u have paid amount arrange documents rebut presumption laid under act and meet an advocate and rest will be taken carr so meet and get it solved so meet
