Gave cheque 5 months ago which bounced can they file case against me

Hello sir i have given a cheque some Rs 19000. before 5 months ago. it was Bounced . now i want to know can he do case over me ?

The person can not file case under section 138 negotiable instruments act against you. Since he must issue legal notice iwthin one month, and therefter he most file case in crl courtwithin 45 days.
but certainly he can file recovery suit in civil court after paying court fee thereupon. since amout is very small, it shall be finalcially not very beneficial for him to do so.

If there was intimation given regarding the purpose of the cheque you are secured till that end. Cheque is valid for 6 months for presentation. We may find a different way out. You can contact further for the same.

When was the date of cheque or it was undated if so then he may file a under 138 of N I act but before that you will legal notice for the payment of same that time reply the notice properly in case of help u may call
