I have given 5Lakhs amount to my friend's friend. I have transferred amount to my friend, who inturn transferred the money to his friend. My friend's friend is given the cheque to me. Can I file the case on my friend's friend? As a security my friend's friend has mortgaged the land in my wife's name.

You can file cheque bounce case against any person irrespective of his status...It is security cheque as such it is valid cheque and law presumes that he has to discharge the cheque amount....You have to get issue a statutory legal notice within 30 days of its dishonor...

no problem still you can file the check bounce case. first send the notice through the lawyer and file the case in 45 days of time before the magistrate and pcr will be filed. later the other person may come for compromise and pay the amount...
