A person took my cheques and agreement copy for 6 lakhs, now cheating

Hello sir, we gave 3 cheques and agreement copy to known person on last Friday of this month for 6lakhs loan 2% interest . That person took cheques and agreement copy but he dint give loan amount and he is not reciving calls we couldn't contact him from last Friday so how to proceed through law pls suggest Hope I get good suggestion from you. Please help me Thankyou

1. Lodge police complaint.
2. Intimate your bankers.
3. Issue public notice in local news papers.

If you did not take preventive steps like issuing legal notice etc., you will be trouble for next 2-3 years.

Issue stop payment to your banker first and issue notice to him about payment stopped for 3 cheques to him and also state in notice that cheques were issued to you as security purposes and not towards any debt or liability and further file complaint before jurisdiction police stating what happened to you narrating facts and circumstances in entirety and also take paper publication in news paper cautioning public that three cheque were issued to this person only and not to anybody so if cheque would given to third party it would be helpful to rebut presumptionunder 139 of N. I. Act.

Lodge a police complaint for cheating. Immediately stop payment of cheque which you have issued giving reasons for precautions. Issue legal notice to him perform his duty of his part as earliest. If he is not agree terminate the agreement

I suggest you to give an instruction to your bank to stop payment with respect the Cheque leaf numbers. and simultaneously give a formal complaint before the jurisdictional police station and obtain an acknowledgement. I also suggest you to contact an advocate in this regard.
