Q: Mental torture and harassment by professor

I am an engineering student currently in my final semester. I recently faced mental torture and harassment by professor who denigrated me and cooked up a bunch of lies to spoil my grades. The professor is going around posing false allegations against me to rob me off my deserved grades. He went to the extent of threatening me "we could have failed you". I have gone down feeling low, having sleepless nights, having terrible thoughts and nightmares and feeling worthless. Is there any legal remedy and is it worth fighting against such corrupt people?

Advocate Krutarth Trivedi answered
Of course. Whenever your legal right begins his freedom needs to be stopped. As a professor he can have no absolute freedom to mentally harass you. However I would advise you to solve it at the university level by filing a complaint before the concerned authorities such as the principal or the head of the department. However if there is no response and it is genuinely concern for you and you are being troubled by his behaviour or her behaviour then we can proceed by filing a criminal complaint before the police authorities. Let me know if you want to take this forward and proceed with the case by visiting my office. Thank you.

Currently I'm having a homeloan on my name and close to 25k will be deducted from my pay. Will I be eligible to file maintenance from my husband? Do we have any other factors affecting as I'm a working woman? Please assist me on this.

Advocate Krutarth Trivedi answered
You can file for maintenance. The law is that and earning and educated lady is not entitled for maintenance. However it is also a law that the lifestyle of the husband needs to be matched with your lifestyle therefore although you having a decent salary will affect your own maintenance case you can certainly seek for the maintenance of the children if you have the custody. Let me know if you want to proceed for the weather case you can visit my office and we can take it forward
