there is no permission required for installing of CCTV at your premises , however if you are resident of a complex than you may intimate to the society and/or the maintenance committee for the same, however the same is also not mandatory which please note.

as per your details and in response to your queries i would like to state that nowdays even the police is insisting local public for installation of a cctv camera for proper vigilance and controlling of crime . But still i would suggest you to give a written letter to Police station and Commissioner of Police of your Jurisdiction intimating them for installation of the camera.
