You should consult as he has a good case but you need to proof that you cannot take care of the child and need help from the grandparents for maintenance. I still could advice better if you tell me the following:
1. You personal details including education.
2. Child's personal details.
3. If marriage was arranged or love?
4. Details of your deceased husband.
5. Details for grandfather.

Greetings to you ma'am.
There are certain sets of question that needs to be understood first.
Primarily, whether you are claiming your right on your deceased father in laws property or he is alive?
If your FIL is deceased then Whether your deceased husband passed away before your FIL or later?

And only upon understanding these little intricacies, I would be able to suggest you appropriately.

Thank you.

You have no right in the property acquired by your father in law by himself.
He is free to deal with the property as he deems fit and proper.
You may contact if you have further details to share regarding any will
