Can I marry maternal parallel cousin legally

23-Jun-2023 (In Family Law)
I am Hindu & I wanted to marry my maternal parallel cousin (mother's sister's daughter). Both of our parents opposing for this marriage. In our community, marriage among children of brother and sister(cross cousin marriage) is valid by customs. Though not customary/prominent, but there are few eg of maternal parallel cousin marriages(like my case) in our community. One living eg known to me. My question: Can I marry my cousin under Hindu marriage act or special marriage act? If not, what all other options do we have to get married legally? Please advise. Will be greatfull if I get some help here to get married legally?

It is possible to perform marriage under Hindu Marriage Act. Please provide me details of your community and customs prevalent. You can further discuss this matter in detail over the phone/ personal meeting.
