Is there any legal complication involved in buying a used phone

We never put much attention to selling and buying mobile phones. Like motorbikes , are there any legal complications involved in buying a used phone ?

Not really, but off course to make sure you're buying from the genuine owner, do check for the original bill of the mobile phone and retain a photocopy of the address and the identification proof of the seller.

There is only legal complications that it may be lost by some one or it s been stolen phone .and if owner did register FIR of phone with IMEI no .and your phone has same imei no than you get problem .

There is no legal complication for buying a used phone if transaction is done with sale letter and original papers of the mobile should also be handed over to you. In case you have purchased with any documentation, it could result in complications if the mobile was stolen, or may have been used in a crime.
