I need help in recovery of amount of Fixed Deposits as legal heir

My father collected the hard earned salaries of my mother and converted them to Fixed Deposits in his own name. He put his brother as nominee. How can I claim it from banks?
You need to apply for surviving members certificate and succession certificate from the court to get these Fixed Deposits. Nominee is just a custodian or a hand to collect the same. Though only legal hiers are entitled to get it. Seek a detailed legal consultation

You need to have succession certificate made from Registrar office , and should file an application to claim it if your father is dead, you fall in legal heir first category and you have got first right on whatever property your father leaves in intestate state.
