Share in my father's ancestral property

11-Dec-2023 (In Property Law)
Hi sir, I m a 28 years old female. My parents passed away when I was 16. So, my grandfather has done a will on name of my younger brother(27 years of age) of our ancestral property in 2007. My grandfather passed away in 2009 and my father passed away in 2007. My grandfather has 4 children, my father and one uncle and 2 aunts. My grandmother has also passed away. Do I share any share in ancestral property of my grandfather as it was not self acquired by him and was passed from forefathers. I m a Hindu by religion. Thanks

yes, you have a share in the ancestral property. even though there is a will to that effect, it can be contested on various grounds. the ancestral property would be equally divided within the heirs of your grandfather and distributed accordingly.
