How is property divided among children and grandchildren of deceased

26-Apr-2023 (In Property Law)
Our grandpa & grandma are A & B. Their 3 children are R (son), G (son) & M (daughter). A & B died on 1988 without making any partition document. M died on 1973 itself. G died on 2015. R is alive. Now R & children of G & M are going to do partition. 20 % of land in Total area is self acquired by A. Balance 80% of land is ancestral. What would be the share for children of M? All are hindus in kerala.

The first question whether some portion is really ancestral! Just because the grand parents might have inherited the property does not entail that the property is ancestral. If there had been partition or settlement deed, duly executed, the property would still be self acquired.

If so, all the three children would have equal shares.
