Had accident on my motorcycle with a car in Agartala.

I got seriously injured in the accident and both my bike and that car got damaged. I was referred to Kolkata for medical treatment and in the meantime, the driver/owner of the car submitted an FIR in a police station. I live and study in Kolkata, so it is very inconvenient for me to fight a case in a court in Agartala. What options do I've to avoid a long lethal proceeding and get it over with as quickly as possible? My motorcycle had all appropriate documents including third party insurance and I've no problem if that guy can get money from my insurance. Can I claim some reimbursements from his insurance too?
