No rental agreement,Tenant refuse to leave

27-Jul-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
My father before death gave a shop on rent to our far relative on verbal trust. After his death, he refuses to leave, sign any new agreement, and demands money saying he has lots of debt to recover. There is no rent receipt. Rent was credited to bank account sometimes or in hand often. Is there anything we can do, so that he leaves and we dont have to pay him? Hindu.

if there is no rental agreement, this does not mean that the tenant can occupy the house. you can file a police complaint along with a notice served to them to vacate the house within 15 days, you can also file a suit for eviction against them.
