Landlord not accepting rent stating he is not staying in his room

04-Jan-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I am a legal tenant of my room , staying since last 20 years in a tenanted cess building of landlord. Paying rent to landlord regularly. From last month landlord is not accepting my rent. Stating that your are not staying in your room. My dady is 85 years old and suffering from age related problems so I have to stay with my dadys house . In such condition what should I do. Should I send a monthly rent by post ( money order) or what reply I can give. Please suggest.

You have to use the premises or at least have it used by your family member without compensation. If the premises is not used continuosly for more than six months you may have to lose the premises under the Rent Law . Atleast keep using the electricity of the premises

1. Firstly , You can not leave your rented room .
2. Secondly , You send a money by post (money order) per month & regularly .
3. Thirdly , Be Polite with landlord , If he says leave that room then you send proper a legal notice mentioned the fact of i am leaving from almost last 20 years . I have create the interest in the property .

4. If you have signed any of the leave & licence agreement then Don't send notice .
