Signing of undertaking / issue with Bond signed with company

I signed the undertaking for UK work permit on 27th August 2018. On 2nd September 2018 I got an update from Insurance vertical management that the position got cancelled and I stayed back to my original vertical RLT and never moved to Insurance vertical from where the request was made for CoS(Certificate of Sponsorship) for UK. Later on 12th September 2018 even after the position was cancelled, I received CoS with expiry on 12th December 2018. On which Visa request was never processed. That CoS is already expired so I won't be able to travel on that anyways. I resigned in December, and on my Last working day during department clearance, I came to know that 3 months of 9 months undertaking is left, as I was not informed earlier that even if the position is cancelled, CoS will be processed and I will be bound by the undertaking. Yesterday I received a mail in which company is asking me to pay INR 3,20,000/-.
