Maternity benefit for contractual employee

04-Feb-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
I work with JNPT on 3 yrs contract basis. Have applied for maternity leave but they denied the same on the grounds of being contractual employee and was told will get only 12 CL as mentioned in my contract. But as per amended act i m eligible for maternity benefit. Since august they are not replying to any of mails and neither they have paid my salary as my leave is getting over in mid of feb so wts the way forward. After joining they will harrass me as i think they want to save there money and by harassing they want me to quit or put down my papers. Pls sugges the way forward

My Response to your query:

You no need to warry about future joining. If you wish to receive maternity benefit and after your due representation your department not responding you can file writ petition for direction.
