Legal action against an ex employee for breach of terms of contract

Currently, I am running a software company Recently an employee has resigned and he had started working directly for our client on his payroll whereas my contract says an associate can't be directly or indirectly get engage with companies client for 2 years . What legal action can be taken?
There are two options in this case that one you can go for the laws and provisions in contract act and file a case in that regard. Secondly you can also file a recovery suit for the recovery of the due money (if any). However you can also file a complaint in the police station for the offence of cheating defined under section 415 of the Indian penal code
