Company forcing to serve notice period

employment clause states "In the event of employee giving a notice shorter than 3 months, the company shall have, at its own discretion,the right to adjust any leave due to employee and/or recover from employee such amounts towards notice pay for the shortfall in the period of notice." based on this clause can employer force an employee to serve the notice period when employee is ready to pay the shortfall in notice period and employer is stating that it is our discretion to accept the amount in lieu or not. and if employee absconds then can company terminate him?
Your employment is in private company is governed by your employment contract. The terms and condition of the contract will follow in case if termination or resignation.
