Company deposit salary after quitting job also & later asking interest

31-May-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
I was serving an IT organization. After my last working day, the organization kept on sending salary to my account every month for about 5-6 months. Post that they contacted me and asked me to return the money, which I agreed to pay monthly, just as they had paid me. But they denied and asked me to return the money at a time, to which I disagreed. After that there was no communication from their end till 2 years. Now they have sent me a legal notice asking me to pay the entire amount along with 15% interest within 7 days.

This is my response to you:
1. Technically speaking, the limitation period to claim money from you is 3 years and they are within the time frame;
2. You could still claim the period of limitation in expired and send them a reply to the legal notice;
3. If you choose to ignore their legal notice, they can approach court;
4. But the IT firm also knows that claim cases in the civil court take years to be resolved;
5. It would be better if you would let me know the reason for depositing money in your account and them asking the same back from you?
6. Still you don't have much to worry about.
