What is the procedure to marry an American citizen

There are two procedure to registered marriage. Fistly you have to do marriage in arya samaj mandir or any other mandir where certificate is used to be issue and there after you you get it register with tue registrar office or secoundly you apply for a marriage in court where 30 days time is mandatory for public notice.

The procedure and requirements for solemnization of marriage as per Indian Law depend upon the religion of both the parties to the marriage. If both the parties are of the same religion then the law governing their religion will be applicable. In case the parties are of different religion then Special Marriage Act would apply. you can get marry under special marriage act. for procedure you must meet a lawyer and it will be beneficial for you. it will take near about two month.

primarily i wish to know for how much time he is going to stay in india then the guy has to obtain the certificate with regard to his marital status and for the same of marriage we require pasports date of birth certificates and proof of residence and it will consume around one week
