Sister in law harassing me & the familiy

24-Jun-2023 (In Family Law)
My brother & sister in law walked into our house uninvited and created a big scene without any provocation. She threatened to beat me up for no reason. They have never kept ties with me or my family and accuse us of not helping them(mostly financially). Brother has a government job and never helps the parents. They insulted us in front of all the neighbours and said very hurtful things. Can I sue them in any way?

First of all you should write a criminal complaint against them and address it to the police station of your area. As far as the case is concerned you can always sue them for defamation if they insulted and created scenes in front of the neighbours. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

Yes you have every right to sue them for criminal intimidation and assault. You can file a complaint with the police authorities through a lawyer impleading your sister in law for wrongful acts of assaulting and criminally intimidating you

your query doesn't seem to address your issues accurately. to sue a person, you have to have actual valid grounds and for that you must talk to a lawyer and get a thorough legal consultation which will help you out further.

Good afternoon At the outset, considering your facts and situation, I suggest you immediately file an NCR report at your nearest police station. A physical copy along with an email and a speed post should be done to protect you and your family’s interest. Please fee free to get in touch in case of further advice. Regards Adv. Abhinav Sharma
