If you are married to the same person on the basis of Section 7 (2) of the Hindu Marriage Act by way of saptapadi, then you can get it registered through a marriage registrar by way of Hindu Marriage Act registration which needs to be applied on the day you chose and within 7 days marriage gets registered over a document namely marriage certificate. In the Eye of Law it is not possible. after obtaining Degree of Divorce you can marry otherwise you will be taged with Bigamy Case under Section 494 of IPC. Therefore, do it which is better for you. and immediate contact with Lawyer for solve your problem.

Yes, if you want there is no problem. But the question is what leads you to this situation? If your early marriage is a social Marriage or a kind of marriage which is not recognized by law then it is possible. You can then register the marriage. On the otherhand, if the previous marriage is registered under Special Marriage Act then you can arrange a social reception, though further formal marriage is not required. Expecting your invitation in that case.
