My father lived and died in Kerala while i am currently living in Bangalore which is my permanent address. How can I apply for legal heir certificate? When i try to apply through Kerala gov portal it doesn't allow anyone who is not living in Kerala to apply. But when i go to Karnataka website it is not providing legal heir application facility itself.

In Karnataka you can apply for surviving members certificate and you can also approach the court for getting the legal heirs certificate if your application for surviving members certificate is rejected by the concerned revenue officer. If you have huge amount etc in your father's name you have to get a succession certificate from court in order to claim the property left by your father.
