Legal action against single man having affair with married woman

What's the punishment, under the Indian law, for an unmarried Government employee male having an illegal affair with a married woman? is it illegal to have affair with married woman ?

Adultry if committed by a man is a crime under the Indian Penal Code. FIR can be registered. However, woman filing complaint cannot said to have abated it. For adultry there is 5 Years of punishment and ground for divorce

You can complaint​ against him near your police station . According to IPC if a man either he is government employee or private physical affair with a married women . He have to punishable u/s 497 Adultery.

Complaint under Section 497 IPC can be initiated as against only men having sexual intercourse with the wives of other men without the consent of their husbands punishable. So an Illegal affair as stated by your question it is not clear whether the man had sexual intersourse or not ?. if he had, then you can very well initiate a complaint under Section 497 IPC and

Sir you can file a criminal case against that government servant who is engage with the married women as per law if a person has the affair with married women then he is liable for punishment in criminal law.

Section-497- Adultery “Whoever has sexual intercourse with a person who is and whom he knows or has reason to believe to be the wife of another man, without the consent or connivance of that man, such sexual intercourse not amounting to the offence of rape, is guilty of the offence of adultery, and shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to five years, or with fine, or with both. In such case, the wife shall not be punishable as an abettor.
