Husband did not attend first court date for maintenance filed by me

I have filed for maintenance, and my husband did not attend the first court date. How will he come to know of the 2nd date?
You can still proceed ahead with the case, can get an exparte order which will help you and blame him for not attending it the court despite issuing summons from the court.
Before that issue him a letter that the matter is on board on so and so date and the courtroom number through your lawyer via a legal notice or a service notice and than if still he is not there get an exparte order.
