can a 19 year old boy get married in india to 20 years old girl

Can a 19 year old boy in India marry before turning 21, given that his girlfriend is 20 years old and from a different religion? They both want to marry within two months because her parents have arranged a marriage with someone from their religion. The boy is well settled, running his own business, and has earned his own money.

In India, a male must be at least 21 years old to legally marry, while the legal age for females is 18. Therefore, a boy who is 19 or 20 years old is not legally eligible to get married. Even if both families consent, the marriage would be considered invalid under the law and could lead to legal consequences. Only upon turning 21 can a male lawfully enter into a marriage.

In India, a male can marry after his 21st birthday and a girl, after her 18th birthday. After such age, you can marry under the Special Marriage Act. As she is older, this is a problem. She should ideally refuse to marry and she cannot be married against her wishes. There is nothing you can do at this stage, till you turn 21. I wish you luck.

Marriage is valid but under the provision of child marriage prohibition act this is punishable under section 6 but child marriage prohibition act is not a henious offence but the same is a bailable offence.

Yes sir you can marry as you are adult so you both have a right to chose your partner as per your will and liking and you both belong to different community so you can marry under special marriage act.
