If will happin then what would be my marital status single or divorce??
Hello sir,
I have perused your legal query. If your marriage was solemnised under the special marriage act, in that case you can apply for an annulment under section 25 of the same act. However, there are certain limited circumstances under which such an annulment can be obtained such as refusal by a party to consummate the marriage, pregnancy by a third person or if your consent to the marriage was obtained via fraud or coercion. In any case, the petition has to be moved within 1 year of the marriage having been solemnised. Please feel free to reach out to me in case you wish to discuss the matter in more detail.
