Mental and physical torture by my sister's in law

My sister got married in February 2019.The boy side demanded huge amount of dowry of worth about 20-25 laksh..since then her mother in law and brother in law is mentally and physically torturing her.Even her husband is not paying any attention to her suffering..One day her brother in law also tried to throw her out of house and is threatening to beat her...Every day they call us to complain about my sister for very silly things even though she is innocent..and my family is left with no option but to scold my sister in return because we have to belief her in laws...she is very gentle and calm and is unable to give befitting reply to them because of which they are taking undue advantage.My father is not raising his voice against them because of society respect and image..Please guide me to help my sister..Every day she call us and cry to help but because of my father restrictions i am unake to help her...Also her in laws who live in mumbai boast about there rich and political contacts an

Do your family tried to talk to them means in laws about this?what is there response? whether your sister is ready to take any legal action against in laws and husband if yes then there is legal remedy available for you. thank you

hi in this case it is advisable that your sister should get protection from the court by filing an application under domestic violence act wherein along with the protection from harassment she can also claim residential rights, monetory relief etc. if incidences are too serious then she must approach police station for filing an FIR under 498a of IPC

It is extremely unfair that the family of the victim herself is not coming forward and not reporting the crime that is being committed. You must immediately take a stand and report the incident to the police and also initiate Domestic Violence proceedings in order to secure the interest of the victim lady and not subject he to further cruelty!
