Wife's family abandoned her, now burden on senior husband

10-Apr-2025 (In Divorce Law)
A senior citizen married a woman with polio 3 years ago. She lived with her brother till 50. After marriage, she lived with her husband, but now she's fully dependent on him for all basic needs. Doctors say her condition will worsen with age. He has health issues like heart blockage and joint pain, and caregiving is affecting his health. Her family refuses to help. What legal options does he have to protect himself and request she live with her family?

Dear Sir, Once married always remained married unless legal divorce happened. There is no option but to allow your wife to stay with you and arrange for attendant to look after her health issues. If no such arrangement is made she has every liberty to go to her brother's house and claim monthly maintenance.
