Wife changed the locks of the house

17-May-2024 (In Divorce Law)
Wife filed 498a, DV and divorce cases. She got residence order to house and when I was travelling, she entered the house and changed the locks, rendering me homeless. Now if I go near house, she is in the way and will complain of violation of domestic violence orders. There is nothing in the residence orders which says that I can't stay in the house.

you can file an application in the domestic violence case and immediately file a written complaint to the higher police officer of your city if the local police are not helping you, write to the commissioner of police or superintendent of police and take an acknowledgement and if no action is taken, approach the court and ask for the relief also take the photographs if possible of change of lock and produce it with application and ask for the relief you need. Further you have every right to stay in the house so better to take action legally by approaching the police and court with assistance of lawyer.

1. you have to lodge a complaint in police station for execution of the court order properly. 2. you can also file the case against your wife for not allowing you or restricting you for entering the house. 3. explain to the police that there is no specific order in which the court has not ordered you not to stay in the house.

Dear Sir, She can live in the matrimonial house jointly along with you and not exclusively. You may forcibly stay in the same house otherwise you may lose that house if it is your own house. In the meanwhile challenge both the cases before the High Court and try to get stay order and ultimately get quashing orders.

You have not stated whether the house is owned by you or her or in the joint names of both of you. assuming that the house is in your name she cannot change the lock and restrict your entry. you send me through WhatsApp the residence order by the court.
