The obligation to pay monthly maintenance to your wife depends on various factors determined by the court under relevant laws, such as Section 125 CrPC or personal laws applicable to your religion. The court considers:
Duration of Marriage: While the length of the marriage (3 years in your case) can be a factor, it is not the sole determinant.
Wife's Financial Status: If your wife is unemployed and incapable of maintaining herself, the court may order maintenance.
Your Income: As a government employee earning ₹69,000 (soon ₹1,00,000), the court will assess your ability to pay.
Child Maintenance: You may be required to support your child until they turn 18 or complete their education.
Lifetime maintenance is not automatic. Courts often grant it only if the wife remains unmarried and unable to support herself. In short marriages like yours, courts might consider a one-time alimony settlement instead of monthly maintenance, depending on circumstances.
To understand your liability and negotiate terms effectively, detailed case evaluation and representation in court are essential.

I can only advice better after knowing the details from you as the maintenance depends on many factors.
your monthly maintenance to your wife partially depends on your expenses and income. further if your wife gets remarried then your monthly maintenance to your wife will Stop. furthermore in future if you found your wife working & earning for herself then the maintenance will stop or may be reduced.
