Validity of a second marriage is divorce plea is pending

27-Aug-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I understand recently supreme court has informed that a person can remarry and it is a valid marriage even if during his divorce plea against him is pending in court. Is this applicable for Hindus also?

Hello Sir,
That case Judgement was delivered pertaining to the facts of that case like it was mutual consent, one party didn't turn up voluntarily for hearing, case was posted for a hearing and before judgement was delivered he got married. So that judgment doesn't necessarily mean all persons who have sought divorce can remarry while the case is pending.

not it is not applicable to hindu law. the bigamy is an offense under IPC. the divorce proceeding is under process of the trial court and it becomes contempt of court. the person has to get divorce then only get married
