Q: How to avoid hearings of maintenance case notice
My wife filed maintenance case last year. court sent notice to me but I was abroad, hence I didn't receive. Now her advocate sent private notice to me but I didn't receive it, hence I don't want to attend. what are the other possibilities from her side to make me attend court?
Advocate M. Dheenadhayalan answered
Hello Sir,Evading from court notice will do no good to you in the long run. There are other ways that court will consider you are served notice and if that's done, the court will order for maintenance. And when you don't pay your wife can even seek your arrest which may affect your career. Decide wisely.
