there is a specific judgement that if the settlement is done between both the parties and the wife gives consent then 498a can be quashed and in mutual divorce it takes 6 months to obtain decree as per statute this is the only easiest process

In my opinion if both husband and wife agreed for divorce then file a joint petition for divorce by mutual consent. And before filing mutual divorce petition if complainant want to withdraw the case then complainat can file withdraw application before the court. but without detail discussion proper consult is not possible.

The issue in 490 8A is very much legal process for which the cases needs to be filed before the court without seeing the previous orders we cannot advise for you regarding the questions asked as because you have not specified us with all the details it is requested to ask for a consultation and meet us for consulatation.
