Seeking Free Legal Advice for Domestic Violence Case

I filed a domestic violence case with a video as proof. The police want me to validate the video and submit it, along with statements from others. Is this my responsibility or the IO's? Will they trust the validation report? The IO took 2 months to register the complaint and is not taking action against the culprit. I’ve been living separately with my kids for 2.5 years, and my husband hasn’t paid maintenance. I’m Hindu and need free legal help.
