We have filed for a court notice for Restitution of Conjugal rights as my husband has left me to be with his parents ,without any valid reason sent me a legal notice as well ...my question is if the dont appear what would be the consequence ? Will it be contempt of court or is there any provision to postpone the hearing to avoid ....even if they avoid for how long will the court may accept to postpone the hearing ?

Dear Madam,
If your husband not turning up you may file multiple cases and make him to accept your terms. Normally three adjournments will be given for the appearance of your husband and thereafter your evidnece will be recorded and exparte decree of Restitution of Conjugal Rights will be passed in your favour.
