Need help finding funds in NRI account

18-Feb-2025 (In Divorce Law)

I am British citizen (living in UK after separation) my husband is Indian citizen (living and working in Qatar)- my husband has been very hostile to give divorce, finally divorce in progressing in UK as per English law. Now I am fighting financial settlement. During marriage I paid for housing etc. My Ex invested all his money in India - he has high salary as chartered accountant. How can I get details of his accounts for the English court? He is not cooperating at all.

if you have his PAN(permanent account numbers) used for paying income tax in India then we can help you find his bank details. by using this you can also find out the property in his name in India. This is the only way to get the details required.

Since your ex-husband is living in Qatar, his salary is not taxable in India unless he remits it to an Indian bank account. You can request a UK Financial Remedy Order for global financial disclosure, including Indian investments. Additionally, an Indian lawyer can assist in tracing bank accounts, property records, or tax filings through legal means. If needed, a court order in India can compel disclosure of his assets for the divorce settlement.

In case of judgements or orders from a reciprocating territory, the same becomes enforceable on being filed in the concerned district court in India. Alternatively you can file a maintenance case against your husband here in India and consequently you would be able to get all the required details plus an interim maintenance during the course of the trial , all which you can use in your primary ongoing case.
