My 498a is quashed. Can I file defamation case?

Yes, if a 498A case (cruelty by wife or her family under IPC) is found to be false or malicious and the husband is acquitted or the case is quashed, he does have the right to seek legal remedies. He can file a defamation case under Section 499 IPC if his wife made false and damaging allegations that harmed his reputation. Additionally, he may also pursue a case for malicious prosecution or claim compensation for mental agony, harassment, and financial losses caused by the false case.
