Yes, a defamation case can be filed against a wife if she has falsely accused her husband in a domestic violence case and made baseless allegations with malicious intent to harm his reputation. However, the husband must prove the following:
Key Legal Aspects:
False Allegations: If the wife has filed a false domestic violence case and the court finds no merit in her claims, it can be used as evidence of defamation.
Intent to Harm Reputation: The husband must prove that the allegations were made maliciously to tarnish his image.
Publicity of False Statements: If the wife made false claims publicly (e.g., in a police complaint, social media, or court documents), it can be considered defamation.
Legal Precedents: Courts have ruled that filing false cases with malicious intent can lead to defamation suits under Section 499 & 500 IPC.

Dear Sir, As on today cases are pending unless 317 and DV case are quashed you cannot file defamation cases. In many cases married women misusing the provisions of law as such nobody can do anything. You must fight in the High Court and see that Divorce is granted and in the meanwhile if required file quashing petitions in respect of pending other two cases.
