If you get a hike in Salary, then obviously you may end up paying high Maintenance to your Wife. However, there are certain exemptions based upon which, you can avoid paying Maintenance and such exemptions are, that, your wife needs to be doing a job and needs to be highly qualified, capable of doing job.

The question is lil incomplete, i would like to know any of such applications has been filed before? Child age? Any Divorce application is pending? It is no way compulsory that if you get a hike in your salary thn she will get hike in her maintenance, why her maintenance and expenses are depending on your salary, she must have submitted her expenses before only in court, But would be better if i get to know the actualy stage of your matter.

The alimony amount is not solely based on your current or future salary; it depends on various factors, including the financial needs of your wife and child, their standard of living during the marriage, and your ability to pay. Courts assess these factors to determine a fair amount, considering both parties' financial conditions. Impact of Salary Increase: While an increase in your salary may lead to a reassessment of alimony or child support, it is not an automatic adjustment. The opposing party would need to file an application for modification of alimony based on your increased income. Similarly, you can also argue any liabilities or additional expenses at that time. Filing Delay: Delaying your case could affect the timeline for resolving disputes but not necessarily the alimony amount. Filing sooner might help in finalizing terms based on your current financial situation. Future-Proofing: You can argue for a fixed alimony amount or a structured settlement to avoid future revisions based on income increases. Consult your advocate for a strategy that secures your financial stability.
