18-Nov-2025 (In Cyber Crime Law)
I gave out a money to a pimp was promised me to get a call girl. But later I regreated my decision and asked him to cancel my service but he kept demanding more money as a cancellation fee. I was not involved in sexual activity nor meet anyone. I need to know can I file a cyber crime complaint or the police will also arrest me ? Also I have all chats , photos, his adhaar, pan card and voice recording where i claimed to be girls supplier.

Your act of hiring a prostitute in the first place through a pimp does not give you a clean chit from legal consequences as it does not come under private solicitation. At the same time you have done one good thing that you have withdrawn your request. Now after cancelling your request if the pimp is demanding money the same can be treated as extortion and blackmailing and you need to work from this angle. It’s tough to advise on basis of a short query. Would be good if you connect

this has been one of the most common scams of all the time online any random dude becomes a pimp through the website and demands money for the services. In India, being a call girl or prostitution is not a crime but, running a brothel being a pimp, sexual solicitation is a crime. To file a cyber crime complaint you can visit the national cyber crime website register a complaint and take print out of the complaint and visit your nearest police station and visit the cyber crime department. This will initiate the criminal proceedings against the pimp. Additionally if you have lured into private video call scams, they have your deep fakes or they have your nudes or any sexual content without consent your can visit stop ncii org in. this will remove it from internet within 48 hours

Based on the facts stated, you can file a cyber crime complaint. Mere payment of money and online conversation, without any physical meeting or sexual activity, does not attract criminal liability against you. You have not committed any offence under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act as there was no act or attempt of sexual exploitation. On the contrary, the other person appears to have committed offences of cheating, criminal intimidation, extortion and impersonation, punishable under the IPC and the IT Act. You may safely lodge a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Portal or before the local cyber police, enclosing chats, recordings and documents. Normally, the complainant is treated as a victim, not accused, in such cases.
