How to get information of a customer of Bank

Being a police officer, I am writing this letter to know how to proceed on following questions. 1- How can I get copies of KYC documents of a customer of State Bank of India? 2- Whom do I have to write the letter for getting the copies of KYC documents? 3- Under which Act and Section, a Police officer can ask for copies of hard copies of a customer of Bank? 4-Provide me a sample format of the letter on the aforementioned questions.

You need to seek magistrates permission before doing so if it regarding any case or a written permission from your higher authorities because in future you can penalised for not following protocols and moreso you can apply through RTI application too

A banker must maintain the secrecy of the customer’s account. (Tournier vs. National Provincial and Union Bank of India, 1924). This means that a banker must NOT disclose to any outsider the details of the customer’s banking account. This obligation to maintain the secrecy of customer’s account arises out of the contract between the banker and the customer.
You can not obtain these details. Even if you know the bank where the account is maintained, bank will not share any details about account and account holder. These privileges are available only to investigators if there is any legal proceeding going on.
