Threatening & asking to compromise

My wife frequently travels in train as she stays away from home for study purpose. Since last 10 days she is getting frequent calls from different unknown numbers, who are introducing themselves as police and the call is regarding a FIR against my wife on theft of footwear in train from a higher authority. Clearly this is a false allegation. They neither mentioned the date of travel nor provided any correspondence of FIR. They are threatening by saying that the alleging party is in power to cause big trouble to her & recently asking to settle things. All of us are in severe mental stress.

Your story seems to be incomplete. on the first instance how did police got contact number of your wife? How are you sure that calls are from police? You should make a written complaint to police station of place of your residence mentioning all the facts. Get signature of police officer on copy of complaint as acknowledgment of complaint.

Hello Sir, don't worry you can lodge complaint against them under section 354D-constantly contacts a women for initiating personal interaction,507- threaten or intimidate a women through anonymous communication and 509-insult your modesty over a phone call, of IPC .
